As most of you know, Nathan was told he was not allowed to turn 4 because he is getting to big.
But against my wishes -he went and did it anyway. This is our attempt at a christmas day birthday party for him. We are so blessed to have next door neighbors and friends across the street that come over after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas for one last fest.
Our tradition is to have our own Christmas morning as a family, then my Mom and Sister come and we do a big breakfast. After a nap -we head over to my Dad (Roni's family gets together at her Moms for Christmas dinner). Their family has a tradition of singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and after they do that they all sing (like 50 of them) Happy Birthday to Nathan. It makes me cry every time. Nathan has never seen so many people in one room in his life -let alone have them all sing to him. It is so sweet that they do that. Roni made him a birthday cake and everything. Super sweet. Then we head home for a quick birthday party for Nathan. By this time -Ken and I are ready to pass out. But we can't jip the little guy. So we make it happen.

You will be missed by all who knew you! I take comfort in the statement made by Elder Orson Whitney, Apostle: "No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and make us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God... and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we came here to acquire and which will make us more like our Father and Mother in heaven." Thank you Robin for being such an amazing example to me.
