To close to home AGAIN!
As a lot of you know, a friend of mine and now one of my hereo's is still battling cancer (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). She is the bravest, strongest, most spiritually grounded person I know. Well, Monday last week we found out that another one of our friends was diagnosed with this very same cancer. However, this time our friend is little. His name is Aidan and he is 9 1/2 years old. This is our friend Aimees' only child. Aimee is Bridgett's friend of 20 years and so that is how we know them. Last Wednesday night Ken and another Priesthood holder from our church went down to the hospital to administer Aidan and Aimee a blessing. I was there for the blessings and it was amazing. The spirit was so strong in the room and EVERYONE was touched. Please keep this family in your prayers too. Aidan is finishing his 7th day of Chemotherapy now. Another example of how we just never know what the Lord has in store for our lives. Aimee thought her son had the flu - and after three weeks and two doctors visits and him not getting better the doctors tested his blood. She got a call that Monday afternoon and said she needed to go directly to the hospital. By Wednesday the doctors confirmed their suspicions that he had Leukemia. Who wold have ever known? Aidan's poor Mom felt like she was hit by a Semi-Truck. How do you go from thinking your son has the flu - to finding out that he has Leukemia and is now fighting for his life. His red blood cell count was so low that he was in critical condition. They thought his trouble breathing was from his Asthma. It turns out he had such a low red blood cell count from the cancer he was not getting enough oxygen (red blood cells carry the oxygen molecule through out the body). Who would have ever known? So as we hear every day - live each day to the fullest and take nothing for granted. That is my prayer for myself and for everyone I love.

I am so sad by this news. It is so terrifying to think it can happen to anyone at anytime. But we must hold strong and keep our faith. That God has plans for this special boy. He and his Mom will remain in my prayers. Love and Hugs -- Bean
What a horrible thing to have to go through with a child. I can't imagine. I will keep their family in my prayers.
