Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
How cool are these lemonade stands? Ken built four of them for our service project. Each year our Primary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do a service project. This year we chose Alex's Lemonade Stand. It is such a neat story about a girl who was diagnosed with cancer when she was 1 year old. When she turned 4 years old she decided that she wanted to do something to help her doctors find a cure for cancer. So she held her first lemonade stand and donated the money to her doctors. By the time she was eight years old she had raised $1 million dollars through her stands and others that were set up on her behalf. She passed away at the age of 8 but her parents continued the tradition and created this foundation. The kids raised $1055 for Alex's Lemonade Stand Fund. There were four stands set up through out Ladera Ranch and over 100 kids rotated through the stands. The kids ranged between the ages of 3 -11 years old. We were so proud of them and all their enthusiasm for this great cause. For more information and an opportunity to donate to this fund with your own lemonade stand go to: http://www.alexslemonade.org/
